Leave a comment » Keep Del Mar Luxury Homes Safe with the Right Smoke AlarmMost fires on homes caused by faulty electrical wiring normally happen in areas where homeowners can't afford to upgrade the wiring, or has too many appliances plugged in a single outlet. Have smoke alarms on every level of your Del Mar luxury homes, and near every bedroom. Smoke alarms may not be able to prevent fires but they serve as an early warning and can save the lives of the occupants. Smoke rises, so smoke alarms should be mounted high on walls or ceilings. Ceiling-mounted alarms should be installed at least four inches from the nearest wall; wall-mounted alarms should be installed four to 12 inches from the ceiling. Pick an installation site that is well away from the path of steam from bathrooms and cooking vapors from the kitchen, which can result in false alarms. Place smoke alarms far from windows, exterior doors, and air ducts, where drafts can interfere with their operation. If smoke alarms are more than 10 years old, buy new smoke alarms for Del Mar luxury homes. Test all smoke alarms no less than once a month, follow the manual, or push the test button on the face of the alarm cover. Change the batteries of your smoke alarm no less than one per year. The batteries of your smoke alarm should be changed at least once per year or sooner if the alarm makes a regular chirping signal, indicating low battery power. When possible, use interconnected smoke alarms. Hard-wired, interrelated alarms with battery back-up run on your household wiring and are tied in together so that if one alarm operates, they all signal together. Also, wireless technology is now available to enable Del Mar luxury homes to have an interconnected smoke alarm system that can be installed independent of household wiring. Fire sprinklers put water on the flames when a fire starts. They will put the fire out or keep it small until firefighters arrive, giving people more time to escape and protecting property.

Leave a comment » Thrifty Improvements for Del Mar Luxury homesIn the current economy, living on a budget is quite normal. Whether you're trying to attract potential home buyers or just want to give your living space a quick makeover, here are some helpful advice to make Del Mar luxury homes look good without costing too much. Small improvements, like a new coat of paint or an eye-catching new floor gives Del Mar luxury homes a new look. Most experts say that these upgrades make all the difference to prospective buyers as well. The International Association of Home Staging Professionals states that small upgrades can cause a home's value to increase by up to 7% and a new floor is almost sure to return almost twice the value for every dollar spent. Purchase your home decors, mattresses, dining room sets, LCD televisions, or sofas on budget friendly shops like thrift stores, boutiques and warehouse clubs. If a new sofa or coffee table is not in the budget, permeate a room with energy and color by adding simple finishing touches like pillows, artwork and rugs. Flea markets, estate auctions and garage sales are unanticipated sources of one-of-a-kind and often inexpensive accessories that add color and personality. In the bathroom or kitchen, exchange out existing hardware on cabinets and drawers to quickly create a more updated look. Piles of papers, toys and books can detract attention from the unique items that make a house a home. If your space and budget is tight, organize everyday items with furniture that does dual duty such as a storage ottoman or a bookshelf with built-in compartments. And if you are putting your Del Mar luxury homes on the market, professional home stagers suggest removing a third of furniture from public areas like living and family rooms to generate the illusion of added space.

Leave a comment » Proper Sanitation in Del Mar Luxury HomesOn average, Americans spend about 90% of their time indoors. Out of that 90%, about 65% of that is spent at home. Indoor air pollution, together with household allergens, is one of the leading causes of health problems in the United States. Some everyday products and activities can make your home sick. With a few easy changes and improved practices, Americans can immediately manage the quality of air in Del Mar luxury homes. Pay attention to what vacuum cleaners promise. Putting in a good vacuum cleaner can spell all the difference. Many vacuums not only provide sub-par performance but can also do more harm than good. Look for a machine that traps dust and does not blow it back into the air. Select your air purifiers carefully. Air purifiers that do not need filters generate ozone, a gas that can cause health problems and affect our lungs and respiratory system. Often you can smell the ozone. Purifiers with efficient air particle filters, on the other hand, are the best option given they remove at least 99.97% of airborne particles in Del Mar luxury homes. Don't just kill mold, remove it. Since mold causes allergies, part of getting rid of household allergens is to get rid of mold and fix the water problems that are causing mold to grow. Applying bleach or other biocides to mold may actually induce the mold to produce toxins as part of its last fight to survive. Instead, soap, water and hydrogen peroxide can be used in cleaning the affected area. The Environmental Protection Agency states that dead mold may still cause allergic reactions in some people, so for a healthy home, it is not enough to kill mold, it must also be removed. Be as scent-free as you can be. Unplug air-fresheners, wash cloths in non-fragrant laundry soap and minimize the use of perfume. According to the United States Food and Drug Administration, more than 70% of allergy sufferers develop respiratory symptoms when exposed to perfume. Cleaning supplies can sometimes increase allergen levels in Del Mar luxury homes. Reading the label to identify hazardous chemicals is important when looking for cleaning supplies. If ingredients are not on the label, do not purchase it. Avoid cleaning products that say flammable, active ingredients, and contain alcohol as these airborne particles can ultimately affect our health. A healthy cleaning product will always list all its ingredients.
