End of Summer Air Conditioning Maintenance for Del Mar Luxury Homes

As the last days of the summer season approaches, homeowners are making the most out of their central air conditioner units. Here are some tips on how to maintain the air conditioning in Del Mar luxury homes and keep it running smoothly for the next summer.

The bulky AC unit outside of your house is the condenser. This is the one that cools the liquid in the coils of your AC. Cooler coils produces cooler air in Del Mar luxury homes. Keep the area around the condenser free of grass, bushes, leaves, and other debris so that the fan gets the maximum amount of air flow. Make sure that there are no obstructions to the vents of the unit within 2 feet in every direction.

Always Keep the AC unit in Del Mar luxury homes clean. Be sure to turn off the power before cleaning to avoid accidents. Inspect the interiors and exteriors to make sure that it is free of debris. Most units can be cleaned from the top down, washing off any dirt or debris from the inside. Take care of the coils because they can be damaged pretty easily.

It is highly recommended that you shade your central AC unit so that it will not work as hard to cool the coils inside the unit. Place a shade nearby but not close enough to help keep the unit cool and running smoothly. This can also cause you to save up to 10% on your cooling bills.

Check the air filter and replace it a little more often than usual. In addition to the filter, look around for any leaks in the hoses or air ducts. Loose ducts with small gaps and tiny air leaks around older duct work can severely diminish the AC's efficiency.
